Welcome Marie Kelly to our team

Can you please tell us a little about your background?

I have been involved with nursing for the last 34 years. I have post grad qualifications in mental health, midwifery, emergency, management and sexual health.

I have been involved with the Far West for 23 years and for the last 14 years my role has been Health Services Manager at Menindee Health Service which has included being a Manager and Clinician with Emergency, Primary Health Care as well as Mental Health.

What attracted you to the role of RAMHP Coordinator for the Rural and Mental Health Program?
I see this as a great opportunity to raise awareness about mental health, build capacity and connect people to services in my communities.

What are you looking forward to most about the role?
I am really looking forward to interacting with my communities.

What are some of your favourite activities which you do to keep mentally healthy?
There include travel, maintaining friendships, walking and cycling.

What is one of your favourite books?
My atlas because I am always planning trips and dreaming of where I want to go next.

What are three things you appreciate most about life?
My health, freedom, friends and family.
